Despite her gruff exterior and intimidating presence, the emperor scorpion can make quite a lovely pet. They are relatively easy to care for and require little in the way of food and space. To care for emperor scorpions, start by setting them up in a gallon terrarium or fish tank with a lid that latches shut to keep the scorpions from getting out. Then, feed your scorpions live insects, like crickets, locusts, or mealworms, at least twice a week, and provide them with fresh water every day. Try to refrain from handling your scorpions, or use tongs to pick them up if necessary, to avoid being pinched or stung.

What little we do know has resulted from trial and error, and is constantly evolving. Pre-dating the dinosaurs, scorpions are a hardy lot, and rarely present us with health problems at least any that we can identify.
